1. Call for Papers
Abstracts (Call for Papers) will be accepted for the following types of sessions to be held at the 9th European Union of Supported Employment Conference in Prague, Czech Republic, 28th and 29th May 2009.

The 9th EUSE Conference organizers will endeavor to match the sessions with the needs of delegates at the following levels:
- Operational/Direct Service Worker (job coach, job assistant)
- Manager/Team Leader
- Decision Maker
- Business Representative/Employer
- Supported Employment User
2. How to submit an Abstract
There are two options how to submit an abstract:

3. Papers Themes
Papers should be related to the one of the topics listed below.
3A) Quality in the supported employment
- Relation between quality of service in SE and the quality of life
- Criteria and evaluation of quality - systems of evaluation
- Engagement of stakeholders into creation and application of the system of quality
- Involvement of service users into providing the quality service (by evaluation)
- Effectiveness of the service as a part of the system of quality, systems for measuring the quality
- Dependence of quality of the service and allocation of resources from public funds
- Ethics in SE (ethics in behavior and use of language in SE, stigmatization of the client, empowerment)
- Selection and training of agency staff /methodical guidance of the job consultants and assistants
- Curriculum of job consultants' education
- SE as a part of other education
3B) Supported employment methodology
- Supported employment in the context of deinstitutionalization
- Assessment of the needed support
- Methods of leading motivational interview
- Innovative methods in Supported employment
- methods of work with motivation
- innovative methods in training of working skills
- innovative methods in service-planning
- innovative ways of support at workplace and reduction of support
- innovative methods of work with specific target groups
3C) Engagement of stakeholders in SE
- Networking
- Cooperation between SE agencies and employers
- How to employ a person with disability - inspiration from experience of employers to other employers
- How to use the services of SE agencies - inspiration from experiences of employers/SE agencies for employers
- Marketing in SE
- Active approach of service users, knowledge of ones' rights and claiming the rights (service users to other service users)
- Examples of good practices in involving different interest groups in SE (service users, employers, family, school, region...)
- People with disabilities in promoting the right for work (Self Advocates)
3D) Future of supported employment
- Founding of the national organizations creating an umbrella for SE providers
- Founding the SE agency
- Boarders of identity of SE (Panel discussion)
- How to gain the interest of the public and the key subjects in promoting SE
- Protected environment versus open labour market, projects of cooperation and transition
- SE in the measure of the state legislation (how did it happen that SE became a part of legislation), funding of SE in the world - examples of good practice
- Research in the area of SE and its' baseline for further development
- Benchmarking in SE
- Tools facilitating employment at open labour market, advantages for employer
- SE in measures of employment policy system, rate of employment and social services
4. Selection Criteria
The following selection criteria will be applied to all submissions to present:
- Relevance of the abstract to the conference themes
- Experience of the presenter to deliver to large audiences
- Clarity of presentation
- Maximum representation of European member states where possible
!! Please note all abstracts must be typed in English because the Selection Committee will include EUSE representatives speaking English. Presentations (workshops, discussions) can be presented either in English or Czech language.
5. Submission Terms and Conditions
- Closing date for submissions is 23 November 2008.
- No submissions will be accepted after this date.
- There are two conference languages: Czech and English. All presentations and handouts must be either in Czech or English.
- All submitted abstracts will be acknowledged within 10 working days of receipt.
- All prospective speakers will be notified by week beginning 5th January 2009.
- The decision which applications will be included in the 9th EUSE Conference will by made by the Selection Committee consisting of CzUSE and EUSE representatives.
- Selected speakers will be sent the provisional programme chosen by the Committee together with a speaker registration form and documentation, being the formal notification of acceptance as a speaker.
- Any confirmed speaker who cancels his/her participation after the closing date and fails to appear at the conference will jeopardize the right to present papers at future conferences. Speakers canceling their appearance and presentation must do so in writing to the Conference Secretariat.
- The Speaker agrees to submit a speaker biography and photograph (if available) to the Conference Secretariat to be included in the Conference information. This must be submitted by 28 February 2009, if to be included in the Conference Information.
- Conference organizers will provide a standard Power point logo pack to all successful presenters.
- All papers from the selected presenters must be submitted either in the English language or Czech language and sent to the Conference Secretariat in electronic format on CD or alternatively via email by 30 April 2009.
- All speakers who are selected for the papers programme will be sent full details and the official speaker's registration for well in advance of the event.
- Speakers will be entitled to a reduced rate of 11 125 CZK (cca 445 EUR). In case of two speakers for a session, please contact the Conference Secretariat.
- Accommodation and travel costs are the responsibility of all accepted speakers who are notified that they are included in the official programme.
- These terms and conditions are considered and accepted and binding by each speaker who is confirmed as a participant in the 9th EUSE Conference.
- The organizers retain the right to adjust or modify these terms and conditions at any time according to the circumstances applicable to the final programme.
